FIRSTDAY

There is a Kawasaki's bike shop called "‚e‚t‚q‚r‚s ‚l‚n‚s‚n‚r", which I borrowed a motorbike, in Schlieren, where is in the suburb of Zurich Switzerland.

At 9am, I checked out the hotel called "Tivoli", where was the opposite side of the bike shop. The bike I borrowed was Kawasaki GPX600R. It would be my partner for 8days from that day. Mr. Jurg Furst is very friendly and pro-Japanese. He served me a cup of coffee and my heart was softened by his jokes. However, I could not understand mostly because I did not speak any other languages at that time.

He said come back next day because he had to give me something but I could not understand him very well either. At last, I could and it was about 10am that I started touring. I had to change my plan if I would come back the shop, but it was no problem.

I went past Zurich down town and onto the "N3" motorway to Chur on the motorbike. It was a prologue of the touring in Switzerland and I felt so refreshed but the wind was so cold for me, so I stopped riding to put trainers on soon.

After 1hour riding Zurich lakeside, I could look at "Wallen Lake" and the Alps. The mountains are towering high in the sky from the lake water. That scenery was really impressive for me. I got down by the motorway at "Sargans" and went to "Vaduz" Liechtenstein. It is 120km from Schlieren to Vaduz. It is the capital of Liechtenstein and small and pretty town. There is Main Street about 200m and the Vaduz castle on the cliff above the town.

The Falknis

After Vaduz, I went to "Maienfeld", where is the scene of the novel "Heidi". The main street extends for "Mt. Falknis", which is like a symbol of Maienfeld, from the station. The Falknis is not as famous as central Alps but I like that mountain very much. There is the "Heidi fountain" in the suburb of Maienfeld. You can see Heidi climbing up the rock. The water was cool and good.

The Heidi House

On the main street, I rode for Falknis and I found a so small village. There is the "Heidi House" in that village. After I had taken some pictures, I went onto the motorway again and got down by the motorway at Chur. At first, my plan was different. I had thought I would have gone to "St Moritz", where was very famous for a high-grade resort, but I had to go back to Schlieren, so I changed my plan to go to near "Oberalp pass". For a while, I lost my way in Chur but I found the national road, route"19" soon and went strait on the road.
